Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Granted Immunity In Cohen Probe

Allen Weisselberg, the Chief Financial Officer for the Trump Organization has been granted immunity by federal prosecutors investigating President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen. Weisselberg testified to a grand jury about the Trump Organization's role in reimbursing Cohen after he paid two women to keep quiet about affairs they had Trump.

Cohen submitted a statement requesting $180,000 from the Trump Organization. He said that $130,000 was used to pay Stephanie Clifford, who goes by the stage name Stormy Daniels, and an additional $50,000 for "tech services." Executives decided to double Cohen's request authorizing a payment of $360,000 and instructed him to be  paid “from the trust” and file the payment as "legal expenses.”

Cohen pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations over the payments. He admitted that he was directed to pay the two women by then-candidate Trump in an effort to keep the information from becoming public prior to the 2016 presidential election.
