Uber-conservative, Trump fanboy GOP Rep. Jim Jordan, who has been accused of knowingly not doing anything about athlete abuse while he was an Ohio State wrestling coach, has announced he'd like to be the Speaker of the House. He sent a letter to fellow Republicans outlining his plans, and why he should be selected; again, he's a big fan of Trump.
Dear Republican Colleague,
In November 2016, voters resoundingly rejected the status quo in Washington by electing an out-of-the-box Republican to drain the swamp and change how this town works.f
So far, President Trump has made them proud.
Should the American people entrust us with the majority again in the 116th Congress, our clear mandate will be to continue working with President Trump to keep the promises we made...
Current speaker, Paul Ryan, who is not running for reelection, was asked about Jordan's intentions (2:25), and he's clearly ready to just be done.
"I'm not going to be here."
Jordan's considered a long shot, even though his colleagues have defended him amid the scandal.

He also recently introduced articles of impeachment for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
“The DOJ is keeping information from Congress. Enough is enough. It’s time to hold Mr. Rosenstein accountable for blocking Congress’s constitutional oversight role.”
He's probably still pissed at Rosenstein for making him look foolish at a hearing.
